PPDS, DEEL Media unveil Showcase Cinemas collaboration

PPDS, the global distributor of Philips Professional Displays, has partnered with DEEL Media in its latest collaboration with Showcase Cinemas, according to a press release.

The partnership included the installation of 568 remotely managed 4K Philips digital signage and videowall units across all 22 Showcase Cinemas locations in the U.S.

Showcase Cinemas had 549 Philips Signage D-Line 4K UHD digital displays (in sizes from 43 inches to 75 inches) and 19 Philips Videowall X-Line (in sizes from 49 inches to 55 inches) displays installed in lobby areas and along corridors leading to each screen.

PPDS implemented its "Open 2" strategy, which embraces complementary software and hardware from other providers in creating location-specific, tailored deployments.

DEEL Media's Carbon content management system was also used.

The initiative was part of a refresh across the cinema brand's locations and is reported to have contributed to revenue growth, with a 20% boost in food and beverage sales at refreshments areas, according to the release.
