December 7, 2010

POPAI DACH, a German arm of the Point of Purchase Advertising International trade group, recently announced that it is organizing its third Digital Awards. With the awards, POPAI is striving to achieve a widely spread public platform for good and innovative concepts and solutions to a wide audience, the announcement says.

"POPAI DACH is proud to have won the partnership of the Metro AG and EuroShop 2011," Karin Wunderlich, general manager of POPAI DACH, said in the release. "With Dr. Gerd Wolfram of the Metro AG as patron and the EuroShop 2011 as a presentation platform, this digital awards will receive particularly strong attention. And with the new Digital Media Experience Arena in the POPAI Global Village, all submissions to the awards will be available to the show visitor as an interactive experience."

To provide long-term access to the submissions to anybody interested, all submissions will be published permanently on the award Web page and in the 2011 award yearbook. The Award Yearbook 2011, to be published in the fall of 2011, is to be a permanent reference guide delivering insights in the status of existing projects and inspiration for others.

The awards are open to companies and students internationally in five categories: 1) Best Digital Signage, 2) Best Interactive, 3) Best Content Creativity, 4) Best Media Technology and 5) Best Concept Digital Media. All submissions that meet the conditions of the category will be presented at the EuroShop 2011 and published on the Web page and in the yearbook.

Closing date for applications is Jan. 30, 2011; the EuroShop 2011 with the Digital Experience Arena will take place from Feb. 26 to March 3, 2011, in Dusseldorf, Germany. The gala with the award ceremony is scheduled for May 2011.
