Plazamedia GmbH, a Germany-based sports tv producer, has partnered with Alfalite, Europe's only manufacturer of LED displays, to supply an LED wall in its briX|woRk.studio, an extended reality studio launched recently in AGROB Medienpark in Ismaning, near Munich, according to a press release.
The briX|woRk studio installation involves an LED video wall comprised of Alfalite Modularpix Pro VP XR panels, which include Optical Resin Injection Module technology, in which optical resin is injected between panels to enhance viewing quality.
The studio is designed for productions that include augmented, mixed, extended and virtual reality elements and allows creative teams to leverage both physical and virtual space in their work.
The installation was overseen and implemented by Mo-Sys, an integrator with a focus on VR. Mo-Sys integrated the LED panels with its mixed reality solutions, including Startracker, Cinematic XR focus and bMR, along with integrating the Mo-Sys real-time render engine (Unreal Engine 5.1) into briX|woRk.studio, the studio's software suite. With a strong focus on sustainability and reducing carbon footprint, the studio selected Alfalite panels based in part on low energy use and low EM interference.
"With briX|woRk.studio we are putting a big exclamation mark on the Extended Reality and Green Production field," Jens Friedrichs, chairman of the management board of Plazamedia GmbH, said in the release. "We will offer companies from all industries the opportunity to impressively stage their brands, projects and topics sustainably. We thank the Alfalite team for their support and great solution. We are thrilled to see where this will lead us and foresee future collaborations with Alfalite."
