Pixelflex's LED display designed to withstand harsh weather

February 20, 2017

Pixelflex has launched an LED display called Flexstorm, which is designed to handle harsh outdoor conditions. The display is designed with a light sensor to adjust brightness depending on the environment, according to a press release.

Flexstorm is designed to offer 6,500-7,500 nits of brightness. It is also designed with water tight data and power connections to protect from moisture. Users can purchase the display in a variety of cabinet sizes.

"Operating in an outdoor environment presents numerous design challenges for permanently installed outdoor LED video displays," David Venus, director of marketing, Pixelflex, said in the release. "Understanding how to overcome these challenges, the Flexstorm design engineers have created a truly remarkable system that allows flexibility of choice, including the ability to sense the ideal brightness based upon the weather conditions and then self adjust for an optimum LED video display."

The Flexstorm is designed with front serviceable panels to allow mechanics to more easily access the data control and electronics. Users can push content to the displays with a cloud-based content management system.
