Philips intros new overlay series for touchscreen digital signage

Philips Signage Solutions, operated by Envision Peripherals Inc., today announced the Touch Screen Overlay Product Series "for users to enable smooth and timely touch functions."

Philips Signage said the new series offers another touch option for users to enable touch functions on their signage displays. The touchscreen overlay brings additional benefits to the Philips Signage touch series, including flexibility, simple installation and easy maintenance, and user-friendly six-point touch technology, the company said.

The same as the embedded touch series, the Touch Screen Overlay Series goes with IR six-point touch and Windows 7- and 8-, MacOS-, Linux- and Cisco Linux HID-compliant technology. It is designed to not only maximize the usage in a broad software environment, but also minimize the numbers of connection cables. The installation feature lets users convert a regular display to a touch-enabled display in a few minutes, according to Philips.

"Users are able to select the right touch solution for their needs," said Rosa Chiu. the general manager of of Envision Peripherals Inc., Philips Signage global licensee and North America business operation company, in the announcement. "Our touchscreen overlay broadens our selection for worry-free touch conversion. Touchscreen overlay even eases the post-sale service on touch function.”

The touchscreen overlay frames have size options for the existing Philips Signage displays in the 32- to 55-inch QL series and 32- to 65-inch EL series. Philips Signage also is continuing it supoprt for embedded touch displays in the 32- to 65-inch TT series.
