Philips' new BDL30QL series displays aim to bring full-fledged commercial signage features to consumer cost levels, company says.
June 5, 2015
Philips Signage Solutions, operated by Envision Peripherals Inc., has announced the BDL30QL series digital signage displays for digital information and menu boards applications deployed in retail stores, fast casual and quick service restaurants, stadiums or arenas. The series is intended to make it so project owners with budget constraints no longer need to struggle between cost and feature/quality for any project deployment, the company said.
As a successor to Philips BDL20QL series displays, the BDL30QL series displays maintain the same and better quality without placing added cost on new features, according to Philips. BDL30QL series displays incorporate on-board cache memory for local video/audio/picture content playback and built-in HTML5 browser connection failover. The local content files can also be updated through the Internet or copied from a plug-in USB thumb drive. The new features of BDL30QL series displays are designed to provide the same performance as displays with an embedded system-on-chip player, the company said.
BDL30QL series displays come in various sizes, the 32-inch BDL3230QL, 43-inch BDL4330QL, 48-inch BDL4830QL and 55-inch BDL5530QL, to fit diversified environments and needs. They also align with Philips Signage Solutions by offering Philips' "Smart Collection" features including real-time content playback from a URL, seven-event daypart scheduling and USB port disabling, plus keeping the three-year advanced exchange warranty as other commercial display series.
"With the successes we've been getting from BDL20QL series displays, we see that the BDL30QL series displays will bring more benefits and incentives to businesses that need high quality digital signage displays which can also offer the best total cost of ownership," said Director of Product Marketing of Philips Signage Solution division, Glen Young in the announcement.
BDL4830QL and BDL4330QL were showcased at the Digital Signage Expo 2015 and will be demonstrated again at InfoComm 2015 in Orlando, Florida. The BDL30QL displays are ready for customer purchase now in North America, starting from BDL4830QL and BDL4330QL followed by BDL3230QL and BDL5530QL.
