Philips intros 84- and 98-inch 4K displays with U-Line Series

Philips Signage Solutions today introduced a new line of commercial displays with the release of the Ultra HD U-Line Series, two new 4K displays set to ship in April and May.

Philips Signage Solutions, operated by Envision Peripherals Inc., today introduced a new line of commercial displays with the release of the Ultra HD U-Line Series. The U-Line models come in 84 and 98 inches and feature four times the resolution of full HD, with 3840x2160 (4K) pixels providing an immersive and lifelike signage experience, the company announced.

The new line is designated BDL8470EU and BDL9870EU, and the displays are set up for both landscape and portrait orientation. Both displays also feature a new quadrant zone view capability, which allows users to divide the screen to up to four different zones. Multiple content can now be gathered and presented on one screen without having to change inputs, the company said.

The U-Line also features Philips' suite of SmartFeatures, which, combined with 24/7 functionality and the Philips Failover technology that ensures the screen never goes blank, are intended to make the U-Line displays suitable for even the most demanding of commercial applications, the company said. Both displays, in each orientation, will be demonstrated in the upcoming Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, March 11 and 12.

"The U-line not only expands Philips Signage’s product lines to 4K and ultra large format, but also maintains the high quality as well as all the SmartFeatures that customers have come to expect from Philips Signage," said Glen Young, senior product marketing manager for Envision Peripherals Inc., Philips Signage global licensee and North America business operation company.

BDL8470EU will be delivered to the market in early April, followed by BDL9870EU in early May this year, according to the company.
