Philips adds new zero-bezel displays for digital signage video walls

Ultraslim-bezel displays are designed to enable HD picture and seamless bezel transitions for video walls, as well as provide Philips' "Smart" features, including real-time content playback from a URL, auto-recovery failover to a local USB thumb drive and seven-event daypart scheduling.

Philips Signage Solutions, operated by Envision Peripherals Inc., has announced two new 3.5-mm bezel-to-bezel commercial displays, the BDL5588XL and BDL5588XH.

The displays are available for North American digital signage customers deploying video walls in commercial areas. These ultraslim-bezel displays are designed to enable HD picture and seamless bezel transitions for video walls. They also provide Philips' "Smart" features, including real-time content playback from a URL, auto-recovery failover to a local USB thumb drive and seven-event daypart scheduling. In addition, 4K content can be displayed in a 2x2 video wall arrangement, the company said.

The BDL5588XL and BDL5588XH displays will be available in addition to Philips' existing video wall line, which are all backed by a three-year advanced exchange warranty. The 500 cd/m2 BDL5588XL display is aimed at ordinary indoor environments, while the 700 cd/m2 BDL5588XH display is intended for placements with high brightness requirements.

"By adding these two displays to Philips' state-of-the-art zero-bezel product lines, Philips can proudly claim to be the top video wall solution provider for any video wall application," said Glen Young, senior product marketing manager for Envision Peripherals Inc., Philips Signage global licensee and North America business operation company, in the announcement. "These displays have been released by our European counterparts with great success, success that we are confident will continue during our North American release."

The BDL5588XL and BDL5588XH are ready for customers' orders immediately. They are competitively priced, and all accessories, such as an edge finishing kit, edge alignment kit, and one-touch color calibration tool will be coming soon as well, the company said.
