Perfect Path and DPL Labs teaming up at CEDIA EXPO

September 21, 2010

Perfect Path announced that the company has teamed up with HDMI product testing and performance rating program DPL Laboratories Inc. (DPL Labs) to offer "Rev. 1.4 Revealed," a seminar on HDMI technology, at CEDIA EXPO 2010.

The seminar is scheduled for this Friday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m. at Perfect Path's booth 4714, and will be presented by Eric Bodley, vice president and general manager of consumer electronics at Perfect Path, and Jeff Boccaccio, president of DPL Labs.

Also at CEDIA EXPO, Perfect Path will introduce its HD-700 and HD-1000 series of HDMI cables, which are in the certification process through the DPL Seal of Approval program, PPC says.

In "Rev. 1.4 Revealed," Bodley and Boccaccio will explore the latest revision of the HDMI specification, including critical details on proper installation techniques and configuration considerations to maximize the performance of the interface. The information presented will help installers and integrators better understand the issues surrounding this latest HDMI specification revision, which introduces new features like 3D technology, 4K x 2K resolution and more.

"HDMI 1.4 is a very exciting new standard that really opens up the possibilities in any installation. As with any new technology, however, it poses a number of challenges until installers become more familiar with it," Bodley said. "The goal of this seminar is to provide installers with a solid understanding of the new features provided by the specification, in addition to proper configuration to provide their clients with peak-performing systems."

Perfect Path's HD-700 high-speed HDMI cables and HD-1000 high-speed HDMI cables with Ethernet Channel (both with locking HDMI connectors) are presently in the testing process to be certified through DPL's Seal of Approval program, which was created to help buyers find the best and most reliable HDMI cables available. DPL Labs thoroughly tests HDMI cables with a rigorous multi-element testing regime that establishes the cable's performance and capability.
