Patton Electronics rolls out Power-over-Ethernet extender kit

January 3, 2017

Patton Electronics has launched its Power-over-Ethernet extender series, called CopperLink 1101. The solution is designed to extend PoE connections for digital signage, card readers, IP phones and more, according to a press release.

The solution can extend 10/100 Ethernet and up to 15 Watts of 802.3af PoE by 3,300 feet using copper telephone wires or coaxial cable. The solution can operate over two wires rather than the normal four-wire cabling for PoE.

"Data cables are often buried under asphalt, embedded in concrete, inside walls," Johnnie Grant, product manager, Patton, said in the release. "It can cost a fortune to replace. Our solution can save tons of money by reusing the legacy cabling versus new Cat5 or fiber."

The IP67 model of the CopperLink 1101 is designed to be water-proof. The solution is also available in commercial, industrial-grade formats.
