Lariboisière Hospital in Paris has deployed a network of 20 full- and semi-outdoor digital signagewayfinding LCD kiosks from Infinitus, an EU-based specialist developer of bespoke outdoor LCD systems under the brand name imotion, according to an announcement from Infinitus.

The wayfinding units are meant to enhance visitors' experience, showing them around the location and helping to reduce their stress levels, as well as reducing the need for employees' engagement with visitors wandering around the large complex, the company said.

In addition to advanced 3D wayfinding, with each unit pre-set to show the exact orientation of the user, visitors have access to additional information such as relevant phone numbers and contacts.

Out of 20 outdoor LCD units, nine imotion LITE 46-inch portrait single-side systems are placed in shaded outdoor areas, and the remaining 11 imotion 46-inch portrait single-side full outdoor devices are stationed at fully sun-exposed areas, the company said. All units are equipped with touchscreens, ambient light sensors, UPS with custom color and an anti-graffiti coating.

The imotion systems are equipped with 1,500 nit LCD panels at fully sun-exposed locations and 700 nit panels at shaded areas. Antivandalism protective glass is treated for minimal sun reflection (less than 1 percent). The system can be fully controlled remotely, including accessing the media player even, in case of failed OS, and the units have numerous self-protective features such as emergency failure messaging, sequential cold start and sequential warm start, the company said.
