Panasonic intros portable LCD laser projector series

Panasonic has released its PT-VMZ50 Series of LCD projectors, which are built for portability and easier installation. The series consists of the PT-VMZ50U, PT-VMZ50U and the PT-VMW50U, which offer brightness levels from 4,500 to 6,000 lumens, according to a press release.

The VMZ50U and VMZ40U models both offer 1920 by 1200 resolution and the VMW50 offers 1280 by 800 resolution. All of the protectors come with 1.6x zoom lenses for short throw ratios of 1.09 to 1.77:1. Other features include:

  • 4K signal input via HDMI.
  • Panasonic's Digital Ink connected based on HDBase-T to transmit audio, video and control through a LAN cable up to 150 meters for full HD and 50 meters for 4K.
  • Wireless projection.
  • Quick start/off feature to project images in one second.
  • USB Memory Viewer function to display images stored on USB without a PC.

"The new PT-VMZ50 Series sets a new standard in portable LCD laser projectors. Its small, compact and lightweight body make it easy to move from classroom to classroom, or between various meeting rooms, without sacrificing clear, crisp, vivid images," Scott Wellington, projector senior product manager, Panasonic Imaging and Visual Systems, said in the release. "Our new portable laser projectors will enhance any classroom and meeting room experience by delivering great picture quality, flexible installation and reliable operation."
