In a continuing rollout of its digital focus, Orlando Terminal C has unveiled interactive, touchless gaming in its Plaza Premium Lounge in partnership with edgefactory and X Studios, according to a press release.
edgefactory, a digital media production company, teamed up with X Studios to deliver an interactive game, Tasty Turtle Treats, in which children can maneuver on-screen turtles to get seaweed snacks as they drop from the top of the screen, earning points and high scores, with a recommended age group of 5-11 years (though players of all ages are welcome to try the technology). Aiming to provide entertainment for children, the AI-powered interactive game is part of a family-focused zone.

"The team at edgefactory worked to create a one-of-a-kind gaming experience that would help to break up the monotony of spending time in the airport, as well as getting kids active, moving and connecting with each other and the virtual environment via the gameplay," the company said in the release.
The focus of the game, the Green Sea Turtle, is an homage to a trademark member of the Florida ecosystem. Game content and animation from edgefactory, interactive components by X Studios, and digital signage installation by Pro Sound were all part of the rollout.
"We are proud to be a part of the newest terminal at our flagship airport in Orlando. It's exciting that hundreds of families will get to interact with our content on a daily basis within the lounge," Chris Laneve, director of production at edgefactory, said in the release.
The installation includes a 6K display, a gaming computer and a Microsoft Azure Kinect camera for interactivity, and leverages the Unity game engine.
