Optoma unveils 8,500 lumen projector

Optoma Technology has launched its ProScene ZU860 featuring 8,500 lumens of brightness and a DuraCore laser light source. This QUXGA interchangeable lens projector also supports 4K inputs for a variety of environments, according to a press release.

The device comes with HDMI 2.0, HDBaseT and 3G-SDI inputs to connect to digital video sources. Customers can control the device with LAN or RS-232 via Creston, Extron, AMV or Telnet. Other features include:

  • 2,000:1 full on/off contrast ratio and 2,000,000:1 with Extreme Black enabled.
  • Up to 30,000 hours light source life in eco mode.
  • Optical engine dust certified to IP5X.

"The Optoma ProScene ZU860 is our first WUXGA interchangeable lens projector to support 4K inputs, providing unmatched image quality, versatility and reliability for large professional environments," Brian Soto, director, product management, Optoma, said in the release. "As we continue to see greater demand for projectors for large professional venues, we're designing and delivering bright, reliable and flexible install projectors that address the varying needs and challenges of installers."

The ZU860 is available now for an estimated price of $11,999.
