Optika Display, a provider of LCD enhancement specializing in outdoor displays and a subsidiary of digital signage company STRATACACHE, today unveiled its new specialty display product suite, according to a company announcement.
Set to be showcased at the upcoming SID Display Week in San Diego, Optika's new solution suite includes interactive touchscreens, outdoor high-bright panels, dual-sided displays and stretch panels.
"Optika inherently understands how to effectively align visual display performance, technology and solutions to meet the needs of our customers," said Bob Caldarella, SVP of sales at Optika, in the announcement. "Today, those expectations are far more demanding, so we are bringing specialty display technology to the most extreme, challenging environments and applications."
Designed for the retail, banking, c-store, airport and public access sectors, this new product suite incorporates Optika's specialized optical bonding and LCD enhancement processes to provide display clarity and protection from extreme environmental conditions in outdoor display units, the announcement said.
The lineup includes:
Optika's 32-inch Translucent Touch Display using a translucent display and an embedded media player to drive high resolution video embedded in a fixture of varying sizes and shapes for vending machines, jewelry cases, cosmetics counters, windows, freezers and coolers, while simultaneously fostering consumer interaction via touch capabilities.
The 38-inch stretch panel is optically enhanced to display content in any bright location, the company said, and is equipped with full content management and video playback capabilities. Integrated with high quality, high efficiency LEDs yielding double brightness, this panel is intended to provide a solution where direct and indirect sunlight becomes challenging.
Optika's 47-inch high-bright open frame display also is primarily suitable for outdoor applications, combining anti-glare or anti-reflective protective cover glass with optical bonding to serve the needs of outdoor display solutions, such as drive-thru menu boards, retail window signage, outdoor digital advertising, stadium/arena signage and any other public venue where outdoor messaging is crucial, the company said.
The 55-inch dual-sided display is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, and the company said it is "the first dual-sided, large-format LCD panel." The displays is specially designed to compete against direct and indirect sunlight and to provide a distinct advantage when messaging to consumers both indoors and out.
Optika's Caldarella is scheduled to present on the topic, with "Display Enhancements: Designing for the Optimal Environment," during Display Week's Exhibitor’s Forum, Session 4, at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4.
