OptConnect wins patent for embedded modem

OptConnect, a wireless connectivity solutions provider, has won a patent for its ema smart embedded modem. This LTE Category 4 modem features firmware and software to provide connectivity-as-a-service for IoT deployments, according to a press release.

OptConnect ema helps remove the complexities of traditional cellular IoT deployments by offering a complete connectivity solution, according to the release.

"The issuance of the patent is solid proof of what we have always believed – that no one has ever created anything like ema," Steve Garrett, chief product officer, OptConnect, said in the release. "The patent is tangible proof of our company's innovation and is a massive step in the right direction for OptConnect as a whole."
