OPS module enables PC capabilities on Sharp displays

Aopen, an electronics manufacturer, has launched an open-pluggable-specification module to enable PC capabilities on Sharp displays.

The tool is designed to add Windows 10 app functions to the displays, including 4K content, according to a press release.

Aopen pre-loaded the module with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS to turn Sharp displays into PCs without additional wiring. The fanless device is designed to offer a low-power, small form factor solution for digital signage.

"Integrating the Aopen Mini OPS with Sharp award-winning display solutions enables industry-leading capability for a rich user experience," Joy Chua, global marketing and strategic partnerships, Aopen, said in the release. "The operational benefits are flexible, industrial-grade solutions, ideal for the heavy demands of commercial use, such as 24/7 uptime and centralized device management."
