Nexcom announced today that it has launched the NDiS 542, a powerful, quad head media player that can support four independent DVI/Audio outputs.
Powered by Intel Core2 Duo/Core2 Quad series processors and S3 4500E GPU, NDiS 542 can smoothly playback even the most graphic intensive of media, including full HD video, according to the announcement. With four independent DVI and audio outputs, NDiS 542 can be utilized in a variety of multiscreen deployments that would normally require four separate HD media players, reducing hardware and software procurement costs, electricity consumption and cabling. For added versatility, content can either be independent or cloned and can be displayed in any direction (portrait or landscape), giving users the opportunity to maximize impact. Furthermore, this high-performance media player can combine four separate screens to create one large image (picture wall), making it the ideal platform on which to display vibrant eye-catching advertising or promotions. NDiS 542 is also equipped with dual GbE Ethernet with optional wireless connectivity, TV tuner, 4 x USB and 3.5-inch HDD drive bay for storage. Like all platforms in the Nexcom Digital Signage range, NDiS 542 is constructed from industrial-grade materials and offers superior reliability in even 24/7 deployments, the company says. Of compact dimensions, NDiS 542 measures just 426.2mm (w) by 365mm (d) by 44mm (h) and is therefore suitable for high-end, multiscreen digital signage applications within markets such as healthcare, education, entertainment and public information.
