KFOX-TV reports that all of the touchscreen voting kiosks purchased in 2004 by Dona Ana County, N.M. are now useless, thanks to a recent legislative ruling that requires all e-voting machines to leave a paper trail.
Other counties in New Mexico are grappling with the same problem, according to the report. They will all have until the end of 2006 to remedy the problem.
The kiosks purchased by Dona Ana County have never been used in a single election.
