New campaign lets you feed pets with digital signage

July 28, 2016

U.K.-based pet store Pets at Home has teamed with Grand Visual to launch an interactive touch-screen signage campaign. The campaign offers an interactive touchscreen game at cinemas to allow users to "feed" digital animals, according to a press release.

The game is currently being run at 38 cinema locations close to Pets at Home stores in the U.K. Users who perform well on the game will receive voucher codes to spend at Pets at Home locations.

The campaign was designed by Grand Visual and runs on the digital interactive network of outdoor advertiser Primesight. The out-of-home campaign will run at Vue, Odeon and Cineworld cinemas until the end of September, according to the release.

"Interactive digital screens are a new marketing channel for Pets at Home," Tim Dowling, head of external communications for Pets at Home, said in the release. "This campaign promotes our free in-store My Pet Pals workshops where kids can learn how to look after pets responsibly. "These screens are targeted in locations where we know families are spending time together — allowing people to experience our brand in a fun and interactive way."

"Few interactive campaigns have been done on this scale in the U.K. before," Tim Last, products and services director at Grand Visual, said in the release." Primesight's cinema foyer network is unique canvas with national coverage, long dwell times and touch-screen technology. The game is simple, fun and instantly accessible to pet-loving families flocking to see one of the many popular family movies out this summer."
