NEC Display Solutions of America, provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, today announced its new U321H ultra-short-throw projector, which it's billing as "one of the first HD-resolution projectors in the product category."
Targeting K-12 and higher education as well as businesses of all sizes, the U321H projector is designed to ensure sharp display of graphics, text, images and videos, the company said, making it ideal for classrooms, training facilities and meeting rooms where a wide-screen, high-resolution display is preferred.
The projector's ECO Mode technology also increases lamp life up to 4,000 hours, while lowering power consumption and maintenance costs.
"NEC is committed to designing its products for long lifecycles," said Richard McPherson, senior product manager of projectors at NEC Display. "The U321H projector's virtually maintenance-free filter reduces the frequency for which cleaning is required, thereby decreasing total cost of ownership."
The U321H projector is compatible with NEC DisplayNote Software, an app that lets leaders and participants present, share and annotate content from any platform or device so their notes are automatically saved. Starting in late July, the U321H will also be available in configurations that feature either multi-pen or finger-touch modules providing greater flexibility for interactivity, sharing and collaboration.
Among the other features of the U321H projector:
The U321H projector is available now at an estimated street price of $2,299. It ships with a two-year limited parts and labor warranty. The U321Hi-WK, which includes the projector, NP04Wi interactive multi-pen module and custom wall mount, will be available in late July at $2,949, and the U321Hi-TM, which includes the projector, NP01TM touch module and custom wall mount, will also be available in late July at $3,249.
