NanoLumens debuts LED screen at military command and control center

October 13, 2016

NanoLumens has launched a 1.5 millimeter pixel pitch LED display with "touch-free" technology for a U.S. military command and control center. The display is designed to be 100 percent front installable, according to a press release.

The display uses alignment technology and a system layout to support 1080 x 1920 RGB resolution. It features a brightness of 950 cd/m2 and embedded power supplies from line input, removing the need for an external power supply. The display can be mounted to a wall at a depth of less than 4 inches, according to the release.

The display incorporates NanoLumens' magnetic Nixel attachment methods to allow servicing from the front. It also uses NanoZ technology to get the right alignment in the Z axis.

"We believe our new solution takes 1.25 millimeter pixel pitch technology to an entirely new level of performance quality while breaking new ground in ease of installation and serviceability," Gary Feather, chief technology officer at NanoLumens, said in the release. "Our tests show that this new display delivers the widest horizontal viewing angle without shift in color. In fact, it features the highest cd/W of any currently available fine pixel pitch display and provides the lowest operating temperature and longest life for equal brightness."
