Minicom to unveil digital signage distribution system

January 21, 2008

JERUSALEM, Israel — Minicom Advanced Systems is set to unveil its new, longest-range DS Vision 3000 digital signage distribution system at this year's Screen Expo Europe, which takes place February 5-6, 2008, at the National Hall, Olympia, London. Minicom's booth, E25, is located at the center of the ground floor.

DS Vision 3000 is a long-range CAT5-based distribution system that delivers HD video and stereo-audio content to multiple screens up to 600m/2000ft away. Its bidirectional RS-232 serial management capability allows administrators to remotely query and turn on/off remote displays and provides centralized management control.

Minicom is also unveiling its new Dual Cascade Receiver Unit (DCL) for the DS Vision that supports not only star configurations, but also daisy chains. With the DCL users can cascade up to ten units in a row, enabling easier positioning of screens and reduced cable clutter. In addition, the DCL has double the power of a regular video receiver, allowing users to put two back-to-back screens on a single unit while still controlling each screen separately.

The DS Vision 3000 system will be on display at Screen Expo's Digital Signage Showcase, which shows the complete end-to-end digital signage installations with market leaders in the supply chain. Minicom will be displaying its solutions alongside 3M, Pixel Inspiration, RGB Communications and NEC.
