Minicom to show player-to-screen solution at DSE Europe
April 20, 2008
JERUSALEM, Israel —Minicomwill be demonstrating the latest additions to its DS Vision 3000 family of products at the Digital Signage Expo this coming May 6-8, 2008 at Messe Essen in Essen, Germany. The DS Vision 3000 is a long range CAT5-based distribution system delivering HD video and stereo-audio content to multiple screens up to 600m/2000ft away. Its bidirectional RS-232 serial management capability allows administrators to remotely query and turn on/off remote displays and provides centralized management control. Minicom is also unveiling its new cutting-edge Dual Cascade Receiver Unit (DCL) for the DS Vision that significantly expands the system's potential by supporting not only star configurations, but also daisy chains. With the DCL, users can cascade up to 10 units in a row enabling easier positioning of screens and reduced cable clutter. In addition, the DCL has double the power of a regular video receiver allowing you to put two back-to-back screens on a single unit while still controlling each screen separately. "With its real-time HD video distribution, long distance range and the industry's only GUI-based screen management program, the DS Vision 3000 offers the most complete player-to-screen solution for the ‘DS Last Mile' of any digital signage network," said David Haar, vice president for Digital Signage Division at Minicom. The new DS Vision 3000 system will be shipping Q2 2008.
Minicom will also be showcasing the PX USB, a palm sized, high-performance, KVM IP Gateway that is ideal for remote support and maintenance of mission critical digital signage media players.
