Meridian, a kiosk, software and digital signage provider, has awarded two North Carolina high school seniors, Lily Blake and Peyton Williamson, the High School Merit Scholarship. In order to receive the scholarship for graduating high school seniors, applicants needed to have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be currently enrolled in a N.C. high school and plan to further their education at a university or college within the state, according to a press release.
Applicants had to select one of three essays based on technology to write a response to. Blake spoke about how technology has helped the hearing-impaired community and how it will play a role in her career in the future. Williamson wrote about how technology has improved communication, healthcare and manufacturing.
"The Meridian team is excited to be able to award scholarships to these two deserving seniors as they pursue the next step in their educational journey," Christa Gilder, CBO, Meridian, said in the release.
