LG unveils cleaning robot

LG Business Solutions recently unveiled its CLOi Autonoous UV-C Robot, which can disinfect commercial environments using UV-C light, according to a press release.

The robot can move around tables, chairs and other furniture and can disinfect the touchable surfaces in a few minutes. Employees can monitor the robot via smartphone or tablet. The robot also features a safety lock, which engages when humans are present to protect them from UV-C rays.

"This special recognition validates LG's dedication and determination to rapidly develop this vital public health tool," Jeffrey Weiland, robotics team lead, LG Business Solutions USA, said in the release. "The past year has proven that the importance of public sanitation will only continue to grow, and LG is proud to play a role in designing technological tools to help businesses improve the safety of their spaces for customers and employees."
