New video wall displays from LG Electronics that the company says feature "the world's slimmest bezel to bezel design" – less than 2 millimeters – are being demonstrated for commercial integrators at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association's annual trade show this week in Dallas, according to an announcement from LG Electronics USA.
Featured in LG's CEDIA Expo booth, the all-new VH7B series of direct back-lit LED displays features "an unprecedented" bezel-to-bezel measurement of about 1/6th of an inch, allowing the displays to be connected seamlessly with each other, the company said.
"This creates a powerful, impactful video wall that becomes less a collection of panels and more a cohesive, continuous image that will create an engaging, immersive viewer experience," said Clark Brown, digital signage vice president at LG Electronics USA.
A two-by-two video wall — composed of four 55-inch class 55VH7B displays — is the centerpiece of LG's CEDIA Expo booth. It's showing content highlighting the company's expanded OLED TV category at aggressive new price points (LG OLED is the Exclusive CEDIA Expo 2015 Partner), the company said.
"We're raising the bar for video wall displays, underscoring LG's commitment to delivering Innovation for a better business," said Brown, who highlighted in the announcement a number of technological advances of interest to systems integrators and installers:
The video wall display features LG's "webOS for Signage" smart platform, which takes advantage of the built-in high-performance system-on-a-chip that eliminates the need for an external media player, helping to reduce the total cost of ownership. LG's webOS for Signage enables a variety of web-based applications across multiple platforms, as well as the ability to write applications using HTML5, according to the announcement.
