LG introduces world's slimmest LED-lit LCD TV

LG has announced its new "Extreme Slim" LED-backlit LCD screen, which boasts a 2.6 mm thickness, according to HDTVorg. Making its official debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2010 in Las Vegas, the 42-inch screen uses a separate box to house the bulky internal workings such as its connections and TV tuners. The new screen uses an 'Edge'-based implementation of LED technology where individual white LEDs are arranged around the inside frame of the TV along with a special light diffusion panel designed to spread the light evenly behind the LCD screen.Related Media
