Mike Kosla, SVP sales,

LG Business Solutions has announced Mike Kosla as its SVP of sales, effective immediately, according to a press release.

Kosla brings three decades of sales experience to the role, having previously served for 12 years as VP of hospitality sales. In that role, Kosla's focus included hotel and hospital TVs, along with developing LG's digital signage footprint in the cruise ship, hospitality and fitness industry spaces.

In his expanded role, Kosla will also oversee digital signage and IT solutions — including education, corporate, broadcast, stadiums and transportation. Kosla's mandate also includes emerging technologies like EV charging stations and robotics.

"From boardrooms and retail stores to classrooms, restaurants and so much more, digital signage displays and IT technologies from LG Business Solutions can elevate any commercial environment by opening new avenues of expression, offering new ways to interface with technology and ultimately increasing business success," Kosla said in an exclusive statement shared with this publication via email. "I look forward to bringing my years of hospitality experience to LG's broader sales portfolio. With the help of our exceptional sales team, we will increase customer engagement to ensure every potential buyer takes full advantage of the depth and breadth of our expansive product portfolio."

Emerging tech combines robotics, digital signage

LG's use of emerging technology, including digital signage and robotics, includes the LG ClOi guide robot product line (main image).

This publication's editor recently saw a live demonstration of the CLOi robot at the 2023 Interactive Customer Experience Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Made in partnership with RobotLAB, the system combines touchscreen digital signage, robotics and AI for wayfinding and customer service functions, exemplifying a new thread in digital signage research, development and application.

Digital Signage Today has also filmed the robotics technology in action in Dallas, Texas while covering emerging digital signage technologies announced at the annual E4 Experience by Exertis Almo (video below).
