Leyard and Planar intro 4K LCD displays

Leyard and Planar have announced the Planar Simplicity-Series 4K, a line of five LCD displays. These displays are built to provide retailers, museums, restaurants and small companies with high image quality displays, according to a press release.

The fan-less displays come in 42, 55, 65, 75 and 86-inch models and offer native 4K resolution at up to 60 hertz. They also come with USB playback with scheduling and LAN distribution to remove the need for third party hardware and built-in speakers.

"We are seeing dramatic growth in the adoption of 4K in the large format display category," Graham Cooke, pro IT display market analyst at Futuresource Consulting, said in the release. "The winning supplier will offer a range of 4K display solutions in a wide variety of sizes and feature levels, to be the one stop shop for the end user."
