Leyard and Planar announce plans to acquire eyevis
Leyard and Planar have announced plans to acquire eyevis, a German manufacturer of visual display solutions. This is part of an effort to better serve customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions, according to a press release.
Eyevis offers a variety of displays, graphics controllers, software and accessories for control rooms, broadcast and VR. Leyard and Planar also plan to acquire Teracue, a manufacturer of video networking systems, which eyevis acquired in 2014.
"This acquisition demonstrates our ongoing commitment to further geographic expansion and investment, specifically in Western Europe," Marco Bruines, CEO of Leyard EMEA, said in the release. "It's a great opportunity to bring together Leyard, Planar and eyevis' strengths and resources in customer service and distribution to build the world’s leading visual solution products for our existing customers and new markets."
Following closing conditions, Leyard and Planar expect to finalize the acquisition in the second quarter of 2018.
