Lamar University, a public university located close to Houston, Texas, has partnered with SNA Displays to update the video scoreboard at the Provost Umphrey football stadium, according to a press release.

Owner-representative Anthony James Partners also assisted with the project, which is scheduled to be completed before the start of the 2023 football season.

The installation will include LED technology from the Empire Exterior product line. The new scoreboard will feature 10mm pixel pitch, measuring at nearly 2205 square feet and featuring a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, along with a Point-Source audio system designed by AJP, Danley Sound Labs synergy horn long-throw speakers and dual 18-inch subwoofers powered by Danley DNA 20K4 Pro amplifiers.

"Providing a unique and family friendly experience for fans is a top priority on gameday," Jeff O'Malley, athletic director at Lamar, said in an article with the Beaumont Enterprise. "We will never stop trying to find new ways to engage our students and fans to make their visit to our amazing venues a special one. We want Provost Umphrey Stadium to be a place fans enjoy and look forward to coming back to."

"By eliminating the static-display elements and enlarging the digital canvas with an event tighter pixel pitch, Lamar will greatly enhance the visual capability of its videoboard and overall gameday experience," AJ Faxel, director of sports and live events for SNA Displays, said in the release. "We're very excited to partner with the Lamar athletics team."
