Lamar Advertising expands Sacramento billboard footprint

Lamar Advertising Co., a provider in outdoor advertising, has extended its billboard footprint into Sacramento with the acquisition of 11 digital displays and six static bulletins from Marquee Media, according to a press release. The acquisition expands Lamar's presence in the region, complementing the company's existing transit inventory.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The digital billboards will be the only displays within Sacramento approved to accept advertising from alcoholic retailers.

"We are thrilled to expand our presence in Sacramento, which is a vibrant community and which we know well as the result of Lamar's long, mutually beneficial partnership with the Sacramento Regional Transit District," Sean Reilly, CEO of Lamar Advertising Co., said in the press release. "In completing this acquisition, we are now able to offer local and national advertisers a more diverse array of out of home inventory options, enabling any brand to creatively blanket the city and engage their target audiences with their message."
