L-com intros line of SDI video over fiber extenders

L-com, a wired and wireless connectivity product provider, has introduced a line of SDI video over fiber extender modules for digital signage, broadcast, security and surveillance applications. This FOCV-series converts SDI to an optical signal and vice versa, according to a press release.
The products are immune to EMI/RFI and provide more secure connections than copper cabling. Customers can add additional options such as a #G-SDI transmitter and receiver modules, a benchtop/rock mountable-module and dual-rate 12G/6G-SDI versions for 4K broadcasting, according to the release.
"Our new line of SDI over fiber video extenders allow our customers to save money by retaining their existing copper connected video equipment when longer video runs are required." Paul Hospodar, product line manager, L-com, said in the release. "These easy to install SDI over fiber video extenders eliminate the need to use expensive copper based video repeaters and provide security and immunity to signal distorting EMI/RFI."
