Kindermann GmbH announces victory in Barco patent case

Pro AV firm Kindermann GmbH has announced its victory in the Netherlands in a court case regarding patent claims from Barco about Kindermann's Klick&Show collaboration solution, according to a press release.

In the decision at the Court of Appeal in Den Haag, Netherlands, the court found that Kindermann had not infringed upon the asserted patent of Barco in the product; the decision confirmed the 2021 decision of the Dutch court of first instance, and the court has revoked Barco's patent in the Netherlands.

Proceedings are ongoing at the European Patent Office regarding Barco's patent, where Barco has appealed the EPO revocation.

"We are very pleased that the patent dispute in the Netherlands has now been concluded," Timo Meißner, managing director at Kindermann GmbH, said in the release. "This also ensures legal certainty for our trading partners. We have been continuously developing Klick&Show in the meantime. The result are universal BYOM & BYOD solutions that ideally meet the requirements of the new worlds of work and education."
