Key Digital unveils HDMI distribution system for digital signage

July 14, 2020

Key Digital has unveiled its KD-DA2x4G and KD-DA2x8G HDMI distribution amplifiers for digital signage. With these devices, customers can push content from two HDMI sources, to four to eight displays, according to a press release.

The displays only need one CAT5e/6 to connect to the distribution amplifier. The amplifier also comes with a receiver to connect to the HDMI input of the display. Other features include:

  • 4K resolution at 4096x2160 or 3840x2160 24/25/30/60hz at 4:4:4.
  • Extends 4K signals up to 250 feet and 1080p up to 328 feet.
  • Auto switching, auto de-embedding and control-pass through.
  • Powers receiver through HDBaseT run from amplifiers

"Key Digital makes the purchasing of this system as easy as could be by including all four or eight receivers right in the box on just one SKU, whereas our competitors have designed their products to require many additional purchases," Jonathon Ferry, national training manger for Key Digital, said in the release. "With a user-friendly focus, these products are KD-App ready, so the facilities manager can easily switch from content A to B from their iPhone or iPad using Key Digital's free switching app. Our installers love the two input ports on these distribution amplifiers which allow their customers to easily toggle from the signage, advertising or corporate messaging to something like regional news or sports broadcast."
