Indiana University, based in Bloomington, Indiana, has installed NanoLumens displays in Franklin Hall, the home of its Media School. NanoLumens sold the school one 24- by 12-inch display and seven 9- by 24-inch display 'blades', according to a press release.
The large display is built with a 2.5-milimeter pixel pitch and offers a resolution of 2880 x 1526. It is designed to refresh its 13 million diodes at 960 frames per second. The display will offer information, TV programs, presentations and more.
The blades will showcase the words, "Indiana Unversity" in all 70 languages that the school offers courses in. The blades will also feature the names of graduates during convocation.
"We needed technology that blended seamlessly with the architecture of our building and was a custom solution developed exclusively for our needs," Chuck Carney, director of communications and marketing at the IU School of Global and International Studies, said in the release. "After seeing their technology up close, we were sold on NanoLumens. As a connector to part of campus, the idea was to make this a place that people noticed. You don’t walk through and ignore it. We are utilizing NanoLumens digital displays in a way that is artistic and inspiring."
