Intersection promotes OOH media veteran Chris Grosso to CEO

Intersection, an OOH media and smart cities technology company, has promoted Chris Grosso to CEO, according to a company press release. Grosso served as Intersection's COO the past four years. Prior to that, Grasso worked in senior leadership roles for other media companies the past 20 years.

"Intersection is transforming cities through digitization. Whether it's bringing high-speed internet or real-time customer communications to street corners and transit systems, our goal is to make cities better and build engaged audiences in the process," Grosso said in the release. "It's truly an honor to lead our extraordinary Intersection team as it creates premier content and advertising networks in America's great cities."

As COO, Grosso helped develop Intersection's business strategy, product portfolio and operational capabilities, according to the release. As CEO, Grasso will lead the company's growth as it rebounds from the pandemic. Prior to his role at Intersection, Grosso held senior general management roles with AOL, NBC Universal and Hearst. He also worked at McKinsey & Company's digital media practice.

"Chris understands the power of technology to transform both traditional media industries and life in cities, making him a perfect fit to lead this mission-driven company," Tim O'Shaughnessy of Graham Holdings, Chairman of Intersection's board, said in the release. "His deep general management experience at large technology-enabled media companies is exactly what the company needs to propel its next phase of growth."

Grosso takes over as CEO for Ari Buchalter, who has been named a director on the Intersection board. Buchlater will remain CEO of Place Exchange, an offshoot of Intersection focused on programmatic growth of of the company's OOH market.

Intersection, based in New York City, was founded in 2015. Intersection's media network reaches over 50 million people through more than 400,000 digital and static assets nationwide.
