Insight Enterprises, a technology solutions firm, has unveiled its headquarters, Insight Way, in Chandler, Arizona, according to a case study shared directly with Digital Signage Today this week.

Designed by Gensler, the 200,000 square-foot facility features a strong focus on digital, aiming to turn the location into what Insight describes as an "experiential space."

Digital signage elements include lobby touch screen tables, meeting room smart boards and "digital hallways" powered by LG UltraStretch smart displays.

"The moment someone enters this building, they are surrounded by innovative technologies," Matt Skaff, director of IT at Insight, said in the case study. "From the rotating displays and touch screen tables in the lobby to the digital smart boards found in various meeting spaces, the building's design offers everything needed for efficient meetings and communication, while also displaying our own systems design knowledge. One of the most unique ideas is the three Boulevards, which are hallway installations that feature multiple LG 88-inch UltraStretch displays that brighten when approached."

The displays in the Boulevard areas are 88-inch 88BH7G-B LG UltraStretch models (32:9 aspect ratio) capable of up to 700 nits, mounted in Insight Prisms, which are a custom cabinetry solution designed to resemble the "I" in the company name. Each Prism includes motion sensor units, which allow displays to auto-adjust brightness and contrast based on a viewer's distance from the screen — aiming to optimize user experience while also fueling sustainability goals — and they feature variable content zoning for up to four screen areas.

"These installations are in view all day, every day, so it is critical that we utilize reliable digital displays that will last for years and can be tied in with content systems for easy, rapid content delivery," Skaff said. "The new drag-and-drop content system we set up is vastly more efficient than prior office signage solutions, and the technologies have advanced so far that we now have hundreds of displays throughout the building with different sizes, tied into a single content system."

The design also emphasizes "collaborative zones" per Insight's request, and meeting spaces include hybrid functionality for groups of all sizes, including meeting rooms and the Crown Room auditorium. Meeting tools include smart boards, "writeable walls" and a room booking system, along with hoteling spaces.

"In many ways, Insight's new global headquarters resets standard expectations to include novel technology interactions and a variety of collaborative spaces equipped with remote communications technologies," Tom Carroll, director of commercial displays at LG Business Solutions USA, said in the release. "The custom-designed Prisms are both a proof-of-concept and an advertising mechanism that we can easily envision hanging on the walls of corporate HQs, retail spaces, transportation hubs and other high-traffic pedestrian locations. We're thrilled that our displays are part of this forward-thinking project and are excited to see what Insight will do next."
