INFOCOMM: Samsung launches new line of outdoor displays

ORLANDO, Fla. — Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, today introduced its new outdoor LCD display line, the DR Series, designed to handle the brightest outdoor conditions. The DR Series includes the 460DR, 460DRn and 460DRn-A, all of which are currently available at estimated street prices of $3,800, $4,200 and $19,999, respectively.

The DR Series is specifically designed for indoor and outdoor installations that are affected by high ambient light. With a brightness level of 1500 nits and a static contrast ratio of 3500:1, the DR Series clearly displays content in direct sunlight. Featuring Samsung's SPVA LCD panel technology, the DR Series also delivers renowned Samsung image quality and incredible 178/178 degree viewing angles.

The DR Series is ready for store window installations or even in outdoor venues. The entire lineup offers a number of customizable solutions. The 460DR is a standalone panel which can easily be integrated into any cabinet or in-wall installation. Stepping up to the 460DRn provides an embedded PC, offering network connectivity through which the display and content delivery can be managed.

For those looking for an all-in-one solution, the 460DRn-A is a floor-standing weatherproof and dustproof cabinet, ready for most outdoor installations. This sleek cabinet is extremely durable, featuring its own HVAC and filtration system enabling it to withstand weather conditions from 22°F to 109°F and up to 90 percent humidity. The cabinet also features shock-resistant glass and integrated anti-vandalism features including a front-facing Web camera, shock sensors and auto notify. The 460DRn-A also features an embedded PC, integrated touch and stereo sound system. The 460DRn-A provides the full interactive experience while keeping the customer's investment safe.
