EMERYVILLE, Calif. — NextWindow unveiled its next generation interactive whiteboard solution for plasmas and LCDs at InfoComm 2008.
"By combining a large-format display with a NextWindow optical touch overlay and leading annotation software, the user can create an interactive whiteboard which seamlessly integrates computer applications and multi-media sources for an enhanced presentation experience," said Anthony Uhrick, vice president of sales, NextWindow. "It's an excellent alternative to a projector and whiteboard solution."
The technology collaboration combines industry-leading annotation software and NextWindow's 2400 Series high-resolution optical touch overlay to provide a superior tool for training, courtrooms, museums, command and control, electronic signage and collaboration scenarios.
The solution allows the end user to set up an interactive whiteboard within minutes, using large-format displays with all the functionality of a traditional interactive whiteboard, but without the need for a dedicated stylus or pen — since the overlays can be activated with any pointing device or just a finger.
Since there are no proprietary drivers to install, the user is assured of compatibility with most other software applications using a standard mouse interface. Because the NextWindow screen is simply an overlay, installation is easy, and the optics of the display are preserved while providing a protective layer to guard against damage or abuse.
