Lamar Advertising has partnered with iGotcha Media to deliver touchscreen kiosk for TransLink, the regional transportation authority for Metro Vancouver. Commuters can use the kiosks to check transit schedules, see departure times and receive emergency notifications. When not in use, the kiosks can display dynamic advertisements, according to a press release.
iGotcha Media provided an application that integrates wayfinding, live data, RSS feed, weather feed, attractions information and a "green" feed that compares energy efficiency of public transportation to cars.
The 55-inch screen kiosks are wheelchair accessible and are resistant to weather conditions and harsh temperatures.
"We are very proud to roll-out our touch-screen kiosks at TransLink facilities in Metro Vancouver," Jay Sharpe, VP, Lamar, said in the release. "These kiosks greatly benefit both regular commuters and visitors by simplifying navigation around this sophisticated intermodal transportation network. And, our advertising clients benefit from dynamic platforms strategically placed in very high foot traffic locations. As Kevin said, it really is a win-win situation."
