Hyundai Mobis' holographic windshield display innovation caught big attention at the recent CES event in Las Vegas though its years away from becoming an in-vehicle experience.
The holographic windshield display would offer data, from car speed to safety alerts, as well as offer entertainment features for passengers.
The panoramic display appears different depending on a car passenger is situated, according to the news report. For example, the driver would see driving-related information but a passenger would be able to view a movie or play a video game and that projected display would not be visible to the driver.
The experience is a driving enhancement to "make life on board more comfortable," Axel Maschka, executive vice president and head of the business division at Hyundai Mobis, told AP News.
The innovation also reflects consumers now embracing the automobile's interior as a living space.
