Hy-Vee Inc., an employee-owned grocery company, has installed NanonLumens curved Nixel Series LED displays in the lobby of its conference and event center. The 360-degree displays are designed to showcase the 87-year history of the company, according to a press release.
Hy-Vee initially hired design company Dimensional Innovations to redesign the lobby of its Ron Pearson Center. The two companies later selected the curved LED displays to accommodate its 4-foot diameter columns, which previously held cases with historical items. The displays show off a 2-hour loop of videos and commercials over the company's history. The displays are 2 feet tall and have a 5-mm pixel pitch.
NanoLumens also provided LCD displays that show off each decade of the company's history. Hy-Vee placed objects in glass displays in between the LCD screens. Each display case also has LED backlighting, according to the release.
Dimensional Innovations also provided a custom content management system to allow staff to update the displays' content.
