Heritage, Daktronics partner in Times Square DOOH

Heritage Outdoor Media has partnered with Daktronics to install an 8-milimeter-resolution SMD digital billboard on the Bow Tie Building at 1530 Broadway in Times Square, New York, according to a press release.

Torkian Group was also involved in the partnership as retail tenant for the sign, which has been dubbed the "New York, New York" sign, which aims to disrupt the Times Square DOOH experience by providing emerging technology experiences such as augmented reality and mobile interactivity.

The location choice aims to leverage high foot traffic, with an estimated average of 260,000 daily visitors in March alone, along with its central location during the New York City New Year's Eve celebrations.

"We are very excited to offer advertisers and viewers some of the most innovative and interactive features in the industry, especially as this sign is strategically at eye-level," Terry Carmody, co-founder of Heritage Outdoor Media, said in the release. "The Daktronics 8-millimeter digital billboard technology gives our advertising clients a reliable, color-accurate canvas that represents their brands in an exciting, dynamic way."
