Hardent, an IP solutions provider, recently developed a DisplayPort 1.4 IP subsystem solution in a collaboration with Xilinx. This system can support DisplayPort pro A/V applications and provide 8K video content, according to a press release.
The companies combined Hardent's VESA Display Stream Compression and Forward Error Corrector IP with Xilinx's DisplayPort 1.4 IP for the subsystem. With these elements, the subsystem can offer error-free video transport with high dynamic range and 8K video streams across a single DisplayPort interface. Other features include:
"More and more pro A/V applications need to support higher resolutions and greater color depths," Ramesh Iyer, director, pro A/V and broadcast at Xilinx, said in the release. "We are pleased to have collaborated with Hardent to expand upon our existing DisplayPort IP solution to support the key DisplayPort features needed for 8K."
