Hall Technologies announces Gemini Switcher for classrooms, conference rooms

Hall Technologies, a Pro AV end-to-end solutions firm, has announced the Gemini Switcher, a soft CODEC extender switcher designed for classrooms and conference rooms, according to a press release.

The Gemini Switcher includes three USB ports built into the transmitter and another three built into the receiver, along with UHD source compatibility up to 4K/UHD at 60 Hertz with 4:2:0 color subsampling.

Transmissions travel via a single HDBaseT link capable of transmitting up to 100 meters (330 feet).

"Gemini was created to provide AV switching, USB, HDMI, DP, VGA and USB-C extension, plus system control for meeting spaces using PC-based conferencing codecs like Teams, Zoom, Skype and Webex," Ken Eagle, VP of technology at Hall Technologies, said in the release. "This kit offers six video inputs shared between both devices for HDMI, Display Port (and) VGA plus analog audio in and USB-C video signals. It's a work horse, and when combined with our Ranger, CAM-1080PTZ, HT-SATELLITE-BT and our cables, this becomes a total room solution ideal for classrooms and conference rooms in a variety of configurations."
