Green City Solutions, an environmental consulting company, and Visual Art, a digital communications display builder, have teamed up to improve air quality in cities, while also attracting some big-time media attention according to a press release.
The companies created the CityBreeze, featuring a green, vitalising moss wall on one side and on the other a 75-inch LED screen. The integration of small cell and metering technology and the LED screen, combined with the fresh, moss-cleaned breeze make the CityBreeze fitting for expansions of smart and green cities.
The vitalizing mosses in the CityBreeze have been proven to filter up to 82% of fine dust from the air, according to the release.
"Cities are becoming more and more connected and digitized and we are proud to be part of such an innovative solution as CityBreeze," Maike Frölich, country manager at Visual Art Germany, said in the release.
Digital communication channels allow multiple messages to be shown at the same location. The screen on one side of the totem allows advertisers to reach targeted audiences. Combining with Visual Art's cloud-based CMS Signage Player, Green City Solutions said content can be uploaded, scheduled, broadcasted and monitored wherever the screens are placed.
"Through the targeted use of our active mosses, we take up existing infrastructures and renew them in an environmentally friendly way. Especially in combination with services such as external communication, rapid refinancing is possible," Peter Sänger, CEO of Green City Solutions, said in the release. "In this way, we combine ecology and economy and generate an immediate and sustainable improvement in air quality in cities."
