GoVision adds kick to Nashville recovery

November 30, 2010

Six months after the Cumberland River flooded Nashville, at least one darkened venue is bright again, thanks in part to GoVision LP.

The Argyle, Texas-based supplier of turnkey mobile LED units and customized modular LED walls provided four types of LED screens to a show that celebrated the reopening of the Gaylor Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

  • Two 9-feet by 16-feet remote HD12 LEDs
  • A 15-feet by 40-feet main screen comprising Daktronics HD12 LED boards
  • A 20-feet diameter cylinder of Winvision 1875, which was raised and lowered throughout the show as part of the complex and elaborate staging, and
  • Eight shared effects elements constructed with Barco Mitrix panels.

In addition, GoVision incorporated three new 13-feet by 13-feet Pix20 Rollup LED screens into the annual lighting ceremony for the resort's "A Country Christmas" attractions. The screens rolled up to allow the world-famous Rockettes and other high-profile entertainers to enter the stage, then unfurled to provide a dramatic, high-definition backdrop. At the end of the show, the screens rolled up completely to provide an unobstructed view of the hotel illuminated in the background.
