Gefen expands 4K extender line

Gefen has launched its GTB-UHD600-HBT and GTB-UHD600-HBTL 4K extenders. These tools can extend full bandwidth HDMI 2.0 over category cabling, according to a press release.

Gefen build the extenders to help overcome bandwidth limitations of HDBaseT. In fact, they are able to extend 18.2 Gbps bandwidth and 600 Mega Hertz TMDS Clock of HDMI 2.0. The GTB-UHD600-HBT model can handle 4K at 80 meters and 1080p at 100 meters, while the GTB-UHD-600-HBTL can handle 4K at 40 meters and 1080p at 60 meters. Other features include:

• Cable of extending two way IR.
• HBT model supports RS-232 extension.
• Can handle resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 60 Hertz and 4:4:4 Chroma subsampling.
